đ How to Visit Monaco Without Stress
Skip the traffic
Andrei Raul
Nice, France
Monaco is beautiful, but driving through the city can be frustrating due to heavy traffic, limited parking, and narrow streetsâespecially between May and September.
đ Best option: Take the train
The TER train from Nice is the easiest way to reach Monaco.
Travel time: ~20 minutes
Departure: Nice-Ville Station
Arrival: MonacoâMonte-Carlo Station
Trains run frequently throughout the day, making it easy to plan a flexible day trip.
đ If you're driving
If you prefer driving, head straight to an underground parking garage instead of searching for street parking.
Recommended parking:
Parking Chemin des PĂȘcheurs (best for Monaco-Ville & the Prince's Palace)
Parking La Digue (best for Port Hercule)
Parking Roqueville (best for Monte-Carlo Casino)
đ Expect to walk
Monaco is built on steep hills, but elevators and public escalators connect many neighborhoods. Comfortable shoes will make exploring much easier.
đ° Budget tip
Food and drinks in Monaco are noticeably more expensive than in nearby French towns. If you're traveling on a budget, consider having breakfast in Nice and enjoying dinner in Menton or Villefranche-sur-Mer after your visit.
