Bannalpsee – Hidden Alpine Lake in Nidwalden
Bannalpsee (1,586 m / 5,203 ft) is a stunning alpine lake tucked away in the mountains above Wolfenschiessen in Canton Nidwalden. Far less crowded than the famous lakes of Central Switzerland, Bannalpsee offers pure alpine charm – turquoise waters, green meadows with grazing cows, and majestic peaks rising all around. How to Get There
Travel to Wolfenschiessen (reachable by train from Lucerne).
From there, take the small cable car Fellboden–Bannalp (about 10 minutes).
Price: ~12 CHF one way / ~24 CHF return (adult).
At the top station, the lake is only a 15-minute walk.
