One of my favorite family-friendly experiences in Switzerland. Even on a hot summer day, the Aare Gorge stays pleasantly cool thanks to the glacial water flowing through the canyon.
You’ll walk on secure wooden walkways built directly into the rock, surrounded by towering limestone cliffs and turquoise water. Some sections are surprisingly narrow, making this one of the most impressive gorges in Switzerland.
💡 Sandra’s Tip
Visit early in the morning or later in the afternoon to avoid the busiest hours. During summer, it’s also one of the best places to escape the heat.
⚠️ Strollers
Not recommended due to stairs and narrow walkways. A baby carrier is a much better option.
