Arthurs Pass is the main route connecting the West Coast to Canterbury. The Otira Viaduct lookout offers stunning views of the rugged scenery of surrounding mountains, forests and valleys. If you’re lucky you may be visited by the kea - NZ’s alpine parrot. Arthurs Pass is a two-hour drive from Christchurch or Greymouth. From the Otira Viaduct car park, it is just a short walk to the viewpoint.
