If you are in the Bernese Alps, this is definitely a place and hike you should consider visiting. How to get there: Start your hike at Kandersteg. You need approximately one hour to reach Lake Oeschinen. Admire the wonderful lake before you start your hike more uphill. Head direction Heuberg, Guest house Oberbergli, guest house Unterbergli and back to Lake Öschinen. There are some very steep paths, so be ready for that. From there you can walk back down to Kandersteg. Its around 10km in total and depending on your speed it takes 5 hours. Tip: if you want, you can save some time and take the cable car from Kandersteg up to the lake and return. Price: if you start from Kandersteg, the total experience is free. If you decide to save some time, use the cable car to the lake and use it for your way back as well. The cable car costs 30chf return, or 15chf return with a half fare/swiss travel pass.
