Trailhead & Route:
Begin at the Sunset Drive trailhead above Lions Bay. Hike along a gravel service road that splits after ~2 km—follow signs toward Brunswick Mountain. The path narrows into a forested trail, crossing Magnesia Creek via a log bridge. After several steep switchbacks, the forest clears around 1,100 m elevation, revealing partial views of Howe Sound.
At ~5.5 km, you reach a ridge junction—choose the route marked for Brunswick Mountain. From here, the ascent steepens dramatically, transitioning to exposed rock and class‑3 scrambling. A narrow, sharp ridge leads to a helicopter landing pad and then the rocky summit.

Camping & Permits:
There is no designated camping on Brunswick itself—but overnight adventures are possible via the Howe Sound Crest Trail, with campsites available at Magnesia Meadows or Brunswick Lake. A backcountry camping permit from BC Parks is required for any overnight stay in the park area.
Seasonal Tips:
Best Time: July–October when snow and ice are minimal.
Early or late season trips may require micro‑spikes or an ice axe—this is a technical, no‑fall exposure zone.
Weather on the summit can change quickly—bring layers, emergency gear, and navigation tools.
Gear Recommendations:
Sturdy hiking or approach boots; trekking poles for steep sections.
Hands‑on scrambling required.
Emergency bivy or shelter, headlamp, extra water, map or GPS.
