This was such a low-effort, high-reward stop. Right along Haast Pass, just past the Blue Pools, and literally right off the side of the road.

The walk is less than 5 minutes, super easy, and you’re immediately at Thunder Creek Falls. It’s one of those spots where you barely have to try and you get this huge, gorgeous waterfall dropping straight down into the bluest water.

Perfect quick stop to stretch your legs, especially with kids, and honestly way prettier than you’d expect for how easy it is.
