Norway has one of Europe’s most scenic train networks — the Bergen Line between Oslo and Bergen is a must.

Trains: Run by Vy, comfortable, with Wi-Fi and café cars. Book early for best prices.

Buses & ferries: Reach smaller fjord towns that trains don’t. The Entur app helps connect different modes of transport.

Famous routes: “Norway in a Nutshell” combines train, bus, and ferry for a fjord experience without a car. (we did a day trip that included part of this from Bergen as we were short on time!) Link here!

Reliability: Generally excellent, even in rural areas, though weather can delay ferries.
