Ice cream in Argentina is some of the best in the world (thanks Italian immigrants!). You'll find artisan ice cream all over the country and in El Calafate my favorite spot it Heladería Acuarela. They have been open for 26 years and are an El Calafate institution.

You'll find all the classic flavors but the reason for going, in my opinion, is to try calafate berry sorbet. Legend has it if you eat calafate berries in El Calafate then you'll be destined to return again one day. It's tastier in ice cream form.

You'll also find other sweets like chocolates, pastries, cakes, and coffee.
