When in Patagonia, you eat lamb. I don't make the rules. And the best place to try lamb in El Calafate, in my opinion, is Parrilla Don Pichon.

There isn't as much grass as the pampas in the north so sheep ranching thrives here over cattle.

Don Pichon opens early, for Argentina standards, at 7 pm. Call the number in their Instagram bio for a reservation or ask your hotel to do so. It is a little outside of downtown so they do provide transfers in and out.

If you don't want lamb, they do have a full parrilla menu with your regular Argentina dishes like steak, pasta, etc.
