Isla de los Pájaros is just what the name suggests - a bird watcher's paradise.

The access road is at the isthmus by the visitor's center as you enter the peninsula itself, so I recommend visiting as you arrive or leave the peninsula.

The island itself is a protect reserve so you cannot reach the island itself. Bring your binoculars to view the wide variety of seabirds from the viewing deck.

What you'll see? Cormorants, gulls, herons, egrets, and more. You'll also see migratory shorebirds depending on the season.

💡Fun fact: This island is said to be the inspiration for Little Prince, as it looks like a snake that has swallowed an elephant.
