The Centro Cultural Recoleta is a free cultural space showcasing visual arts, music, film, dance, and literature since 1980.

It's located at Junin 1930, steps from the cemetery.

For years, the cultural center invited artists to intervene in the facade with colorful murals. I've included a few photos of my favorites.

Recently, though, they debuted the new facade, a return to the traditional. The color is called Pompeyan Red, a tribute to Clorindo Testa, one of the architects who in 1980 repurposed this building into the cultural center that occupies it today. You won't see the murals anymore, only this traditional red often used on country estates in the Argentine countryside.
