The Sendero Río Bonito is an easy hiking trail that snakes along the shorts of the aforementioned Río Bonito until it spits you out on the beach of Lago Nahuel Huapi.

The trail is about a mile long but, aside from a short hill down to the trail, is completely flat. This is a walk, not a trek. It's a trail I re-visited multiple times with my kids during our winter in Villa La Angostura. They could run along ahead of me, jump in the puddles, and throw rocks into the river. A friend who lives in VLA uses this trail as her regular running path.

Hike all the way to the end to sit for a while on the beach of Nahuel Huapi Lake. Bring a picnic or your mate 🧉.

In total the trail is just under 2 miles (there and back). Expect it to take an hour or more if you expect to spend some time on the beach before heading back. It is easy but of course bring water and snacks.
