The Hosteria and Casa De Té Arrayan is the oldest tea house in Patagonia. It's overlooking Lago Lacar just outside of San Martin de los Andes. Along with the tea house that is housed in the main house, there is also a hotel on the property.

Casa de Té: Open every day from 2 pm to 9 pm. Make a reservation here. Tea time includes a three tier tower of salty and sweet treats to go with their 20 unique tea blends created in-house.

Hostería Arrayán: On the same property they run a hotel called the Hostería Arrayán with lake view rooms and private decks. We stayed here on our first trip to SMA and absolutely loved it. It was a short drive into town so it's easier with a rental car but other guests did get by with taxis. The cozy rooms feel like you're in a private log cabin versus a hotel room. Breakfast is included with fresh baked pastries. Book your room here.

History: The tea house was built by Renée Dickinson, a 26 year old English woman. It opened in 1939, named after the cinnamon barked Arrayan trees in the region in honor of Dickinson's own bright red hair.
