Pampa Linda is a small mountain settlement in the valley at the base of Cerro Tronador, the highest peak in Nahuel Huapi National Park.
It serves as the starting point for some of the most breathtaking hikes in Argentina, including three mountain huts (refugios). You can use Pampa Linda as you base for day hikes or a starting point for overnight stays and multi-day treks in the refugios.
There are two hotels here that great options to use as a base:
Important: The road to Tronador is one-way only at certain hours (confirm beforehand if going in your own vehicle). The tourist shuttle operates based on the road hours.
Day Trip: If you don't want to do the hikes or you are tight on time, you can take this day trip from Bariloche to see Cerro Tronador and Pampa Linda.
Hikes: Read my Pampa Linda Hiking Guide for all of the trails and refugios in this area.
