The Circuito Chico, a short loop route, as the name describes, is a scenic drive 23 kilometers from downtown Bariloche. You could spend as little as a few hours driving it, stopping at scenic viewpoints along the road as you go. Alternatively, you could spend the entire day exploring the many hiking trails, tucked away beaches, and restaurants here.

What to see: Honestly, so much. I will mark all the sites on this map to go into detail for each one. I also have this detailed blog post dedicated to this route and also this hiking guide with short hikes on the Circuito Chico. For those trails, check the section on the Llao Llao Municipal Park.

How to get to/explore the Circuito Chico:

  • Drive - The easiest way is to have your own car, Bariloche is a car destination in my opinion. Check here for rental car rates and to reserve. Otherwise you can also pay for a remis driver (private taxi) for half the day.

  • Bus - You can take the bus - lines 20, 10, and 13 all go to the Circuito Chico - but I recommend against this if you want to make multiple stops. The bus can be slow and unreliable.

  • Bike - Such a fun way to explore if the weather is nice, just know that you'll be biking on the road with cars - not a path. Rent bikes here

  • Guided Tours like this are easy if you want to let go of control and see all the highlights stress free.
