Don Julio is the most in demand steakhouse in all of Argentina. It is regularly on the list of The Best 50 Restaurants in the World and even has the honor of a Michelin star.

So, is it worth all the hype?

Yes, the steak is incredible. It's as good as they say it is. The service is up to North American standards. And they pride themselves on their fresh ingredients from their own farm (don't miss the heirloom tomatoes if you visit in summer!).

But with all that hype comes a hefty price tag and not a lot of Argentines in the dining room. You also need to reserve, reservations open 3 months in advance so plan accordingly.

I leave this decision up to you. You know which vibe you prefer. If you're looking for a local's only haunt, Don Julio hasn't been that haunt for many years. Look elsewhere. In fact, that's why I had to use all stock photos for this restaurant, I haven't been in many years. The last time I went you could waltz right on in and pick from the many empty tables (I am aging myself here).

But if you want to see what all the fuss is about, I promise you won't be disappointed with your meal. The food here is spectacular and renowned for a reason.
