After Lago Espejo Chico, Lago Hermoso is my second favorite lake on this route. Yes, I do have rankings. Lago Hermoso is as the name suggests, beautiful. It isn't an official 7 lakes lake and has a 2 kilometer detour off of Ruta 40. The road is dirt but easy, with pot holes (particularly in winter) but nothing majorly difficult for even the most basic of rental cars to pass.

I have only visited in low season so not taken advantage of the restaurant and campgrounds. If you visit in season then you have plenty to take advantage of here.

Restaurant: Malamado Restobar is open seasonally, starting in November through the peak summer season. It faces Lago Hermoso with sunset parties and other activities (as well as your average meal!).

⛺ Campsites: There are campgrounds with facilities on Lago Hermoso. You have campsites and even cabins (bedrooms only), with services:
