Mirador al Lago Lacar is along Ruta 40 just outside of San Martin de los Andes to the south (heading to Bariloche). As you drive up out of town you'll start to get a privileged view of Lago Lacar and the town below you. There is a small shoulder to pull over and a concrete barrier ideal for sitting a while to take in the view.

🌄 Sunset Views: This view is ideal at sunset. It's a popular spot to go with your mate 🧉 and chat as the sun goes down behind the lake and the mountains.

But if you're like me, you can also bring some chilled white wine in your water bottle for a sundowner or a bottle of Malbec with a screwcap. (Spot the tourist because we're the ones wanting a sundowner drink, the locals will all have mate).
