The 5 star Cliff Bay hotel is one of the best hotels in Funchal. The amenities are fantastic all across the board and we loved our stay here where especially the breakfast buffet is spectacular.

The hotel is a bit dated when you compare to new and more contemporary 5 star hotels, but that also reflects in the price. Being able to use the pool and cliffside facilities makes all the difference since you otherwise will have to go to public rockpools such as Doca do Cavacas.

All in all we recommend The Cliff Bay hotel. Alternatively you can book a standard room at Savoy Palace, which is more modern and luxurious.
