The little mermaid is probably already on your list of things to see in Copenhagen. But here is an honest review.

The walk to the statue from the center of the city is a lovely waterfront walk in green surroundings and that should actually be the main attraction.

Because once you reach The Little Mermaid you'll realize how incredibly small she actually is as you'll have to get in front of the hoard of people to get a glimpse and a photo of her.

Ofc she is a main attraction here in Copenhagen and as most of us grew up with the H.C. Anderson history and Disney movie of The Little Mermaid it is fun to see the “real” one here.

Some History behind the stature.

A tragic love story by H.C. Andersen: The Little Mermaid tells the sad story of a young mermaid who saves a prince from drowning at sea during a storm. She falls madly in love with him and wants to trade the ocean for dry land. To find her prince, she gives up her voice in exchange for a pair of legs.
