If you like Mediterranean food and a cozy environment pay a visit to il Vivaldi. The food is excellent with allegedly the best risotto in Portugal. We tried it and it's definitely up there. The restaurant does have a little too much of the 90s soup, steak and dessert theme that is designed for the many pensioners who come to Madeira, but it doesn't ruin the experience. They have a super cute terrace in the back where you can enjoy both lunch and dinner. Service is friendly and the owner is very nice.
