We go to Praia Formosa at least 2-3 times a week. Sometimes we go for a quick dip and a beach walk with Lara. Other times we walk along the board all the way to Câmara de Lobos, which is 2.5 km each way. It's not the most beautiful beach, but it's still nice enough. It's a wonderful place to watch the sunset unless you are in peak summer months, as the sun sets to far "inland". If you are into running this is also a great place to go. You can actually run all the way from Lido with boardwalk most of the route.
