Abrigo do Pastor is a 20 minute drive from Funchal city center. It's one of our favorite restaurants on Madeira and for many reasons. The food is rooted in typical Portuguese cuisine double downing on the soul food elements. It's also a special place because it's in the mountain. It can be 24 degrees in Funchal and 11 at Abrigo do Pastor, so it's worm hole to what feels like the Alps. It's a special vibe that has to be experienced.
