Santana is a huge tourist attraction and big buses go here in hoards. To be honest, we've never really understood why this is such a big attraction, as it's really just a couple of the old houses that Madeiran people used to live in. If you have rented a car you should go for a quick stop, but don't make this a priority. Especially since the interior of the houses aren't original. They've been remodeled and all work as souvenir shops which ruins the original aspect of the houses.
