What you’ll do

This weekend is packed with all our personal must see places in Copenhagen for a first time visitor. We have left out all the nonsense tourists trapped and cut straight into the bone of good style, incredible food and authentic Danish culture.

We are giving you a lot of our favourite local spots but we are also not leaving out some of the most important sightseeing in Copenhagen

We have focused on Spring, summer and fall in this guide although many of the attractions can be visited all year around.

You will be walking a lot in this stunning city so bring ice shoes and don't leave your camera and appetite at home because this is gonna be a beautiful weekend with lots of good food and drinks.

On this day there is a lot of walking and it is designed for you to get a mix of the very local feel with a sprinkle of tourist attractions. This is the kinda day that We would personally enjoy and it is in fact a total replica of a day we have spent in Copenhagen.

On your first day of exploration we are throwing you straight into the hip local area of Copenhagen. This is Vesterbro. We are recommending that you stay at Axel Guldsmed which is located close to the central station here on Vesterbro.

From your hotel you have a short walk to our old meatpacking district. This industrial area has become a cultural creative hub. Here you are met with a vibrant and funky atmosphere.

Oddly enough we have selected a middle eastern restaurant for your first meal. Middle easter food is quite big in Denmark and especially in Copenhagen due to a quite big Arabic and north african population. This organic kitchen has some crazy good food and super fresh and tasty cocktails. And the best park is that you can watch all the trendy people in the meatpacking district while enjoying your food.

After your lunch we suggest that you go to one of the many candy stores located in the neighborhood and mix a huge bag of it. Sorry for pushing you toward diabetes btw. But the candy culture is huge in Denmark. And you will enjoy the candy on your next destination.

Tivoli! Yes you ofc have to visit this gorgeous amusement/ theme park. Just take a stroll and enjoy the beauty and if you are in the mood go for a couple of rollercoaster rides. If not, it's a great place to go for a walk and eat your candy.

After leaving Tivoli you are close to what is known as the most colorful cinema in the world. This old building is odd looking but it makes for a great instagram photo. You can pass it on your way to the next park.

Ørstedparken is a place to take a short stroll. This is a “dirty” park if you will, as this is a place where people went to make love to each other in the bushes. You can read more about it by clicking on the attraction.

Your last destination is located in the buttercup of Copenhagen. It's a lovely rooftop with great bar food and tasty cocktails. Here you can have your dinner and enjoy the sunset over the roofs of Copenhagen.
