What to expect:

Prepare for the roar of the Thurwasserfälle! Tucked away between majestic cliffs, this powerful, multi-level waterfall is a true oasis. It's an easy 10 to 20-minute walk from the nearby parking along a simple gravel path, leading you right to the cool, misty air surrounding the falls. You can even explore a bit further up a small path into a cool rock tunnel for a different perspective. The sheer force of the water is humbling and offers a refreshing escape, especially on a warm day.

How to get here:

Park at the free parking lot next to Hotel "Sternen". It's a pretty easy walk, on the way you will even rewarded with a lovely looking stone bridge.

1.5h drive from Zurich.

If you came with public transport, leave the train at Unterwasser and walk 5 minutes till you reach the Hotel Sternen. Behind the Hotel is the starting point for this little hike.

Notes:

In winter, the entrance to the gorge is closed due to snowfall. However, you can still enter the gorge in winter at your own risk.

There is a fire pit available for barbecuing.

Our kids loved playing in the puddles along the trail after visiting the waterfall.
