This itinerary gives you an idea of how to discover Vienna's 1st district, starting at the U3 station Volkstheater and walking through museums, parks and main streets, stopping by some of the photo spots identified in the guide.
I would suggest doing the whole circuit walking but you could also take the metro (U-Bahn) or tram lines between different spots. It can be done in one full day or also split into 2 days, depending on your speed and how many detours you want to have, and of course considering the stops for a nice coffe with a Viennese cake or to eat a Wiener Schnitzel with potato salad.
