The Hike
Distance: 4.7km - Duration: 2h - Height: 470m
Description
The path to the summit cross is not very demanding and can be reached quickly. From the Loseralm parking lot, follow trail Nr. 256, which quickly takes you to a small mountain lake (Augstsee). A few cows also like to spend time here.
Another highlight of this hiking trail is the Loserfenster, which is a several metre-high natural rock gate. It offers beatiful panoramic views. The final ascent leads to the Loser summit at 1838 metres. The summit is a small plateau with almost unlimited views of the peaks of the Totes Gebirge, almost the entire Salzkammergut, Grimmming, Dachstein, Niedere and Hohe Tauern. While snacking at the top of the mountain, you can also watch the climbers astheey ascend the famous Sisi via ferrate. Back at the car park, the Loseralm offers a wide range of delicacies.
Good to know
There are no trees to provide shade on the trail, so I would highly recommend a hat, sun cream and plenty of water.
Despite the easy hiking trail, I still recommend hiking boots.
I highly recommend the Kaiserschmarrn and Käsespätzle at the Loseralm
You have to pass a toll road to reach the Loseralm parking lot. For more information, look at the website.
The car park is located at an altitude of 1,600m, directly at the Loseralm mountain hut
