The “entrance tax” to certain areas & beach clubs
Note this before heading to new spots.
Quisha Rose
Bali, Indonesia
A lot of people don’t realise that some Bali hotspots actually charge a small fee just to enter the area - not for your food or drinks.
Here’s how to handle it like a pro:
1. Always carry small cash
IDR 20–50k per person is usually enough. Many of these fees can’t be paid by card, so having cash saves stress.
2. Don’t get frustrated
It’s not a scam - it’s just how some areas maintain private roads, parking, or local staff. Think of it as part of the Bali experience.
3. Research ahead
If you’re planning to hit a high-end beach club or cliffside restaurant, Google or Instagram often mentions the entrance fee in the latest visitor posts. Knowing in advance keeps the vibe chill.
