This little spot along the back country St Bathans Downs Road is a beautiful Central Otago photo location that is perfect at any time of the day. With the lone tree and dirt road amongst the mountain back drop you couldn't ask for a better country road photo. It is very close to the amazing Blue Lake in St Bathans so you get two photo spots very close together with this one.

I would suggest trying to get to this spot during the winter when there is some snow on the mountains, and at either sunrise or sunset golden hours for beautiful light. I was here during the sunrise hours but it would work even better at sunset.
