Spain is generally a safe country for travelers, with low crime rates, but it's always good to exercise caution, especially in crowded areas like La Rambla in Barcelona or the metro stations in Madrid. Petty theft, like pickpocketing, can occur, so keep your valuables secure and be aware of your surroundings. Spain has a high standard of healthcare, and if you’re an EU resident, you can use your European Health Insurance Card (EHIC). Travelers from non-EU countries should ensure they have travel insurance that covers healthcare and emergencies.
