David and I don't like switching hotels, and we don't mind driving around if our home base is further away. We picked one home base and had beautiful drives every day. Most people like to stay in Ortiesi or Cortina d'Ampezzo as their home bases as those are most near to other destinations.
You definitely want to book your accommodations EARLY!
