Some popular regions offer an "all-inclusive" regional pass that include unlimited public transport and mountain railways for 3-10 days.
These are only worth it if you are staying in the region for 5+ days and are using expensive mountain transport every day of your trip.
You may also prefer this pass if you value convenience is more important than budget. With regional passes, you don't have to buy individual tickets for public transport or mountain transport.
Examples: Jungfrau Region, Bernese Oberland, and Lucerne Region
Note: Despite their "all-inclusive" marketing, these pass don't actually cover everything. So verify that all activities you want to do are covered by the pass.
