Near Zug, you can ride a short funicular train up the Zugerberg mountain to catch beautiful views across the lake. In this area, many of the trees turn beautiful colors in mid October. You can get beautiful pictures right near the funicular station if you don't want to walk far.

But the trail through the forest is delightful, especially if you are with children since it has fun activities scattered along the path. There is also a big playground with a picnic area.
