Gersau is a small municipality located in the canton of Schwyz. This picturesque area which lies between the southern slope of the Rigi and the northern shore of Lake Lucerne, can only be reached by car ferry or over the Gätterli pass from Lauerz. Experiencing the peaceful atmosphere of this sunny place is very rewarding. It is also home to many celebrated Sweet Chestnuts trees, which are why it is sometimes known as the 'Riviera of Lake Lucerne'.
