Mattmarksee is an ideal hiking destination for families and people of all ages. The trail around the alpine lake is relatively easy, taking a maximum of 2.5 hours to complete, and has plenty of scenery, waterfalls, and a gorgeous river (easy hike, 8km, 70m elevation gain). With the added bonus of having a restaurant with views of the lake, it’s easy to make a half-day trip out of it.
