Castles of Bellinzona which date back to the 13th and 14th centuries, are a UNESCO World Heritage Site and an important cultural landmark in the region. Sightseeing in Bellinzona typically begins with a visit to the Castles which offer stunning views of the city and surrounding landscape. You can pay entrance fees at each individual castle or buy the Bellinzona pass, which covers all three castles. In 2023, this costs CHF 28/adult. Other popular sightseeing activities in Bellinzona include visiting the Piazza Collegiata, Pietro e Stefano and the Palazzo Civico. There are also several museums, including the Museo Vela, which features the works of famous Swiss artist Vincenzo Vela. Bellinzona is well-known for its beautiful parks and gardens, including the Parco delle Camelie, which is home to over 200 varieties of camellias, and the Parco Ciani, which features a stunning lakefront promenade and a variety of botanical attractions.
