These mysterious earth formations were formed around 80 000 to 10 000 years ago during the end phase of the last Ice Age. A network of boulders remains as protective caps for the soil underneath them, giving way to the famous pyramids. The various shades of brown, green and grey make the scenery look even more mysterious and dramatic.
