Alpstein is a mountain range in the Appenzell Alps. With its highest mountain - the Säntis at 2502m Alpstein range is relatively tall when compared to the surrounding area creating breathtaking views. Geologically it is composed of limestone massifs and is different from the predominantly granitic central Alps.
