Aletsch Glacier is a must-visit destination for all nature lovers and outdoor enthusiasts. It is the largest glacier in the Alps - 23 km long, measuring 1.5 km wide on average and 900m as its thickest point. Located in the canton of Valais in Switzerland with highest elevation at 4160m above sea level, Aletsch Glacier is a UNESCO World Heritage site and efforts are being made to preserve it for future generations. There are 4 view points: Bettmerhorn (cable car Bettmeralp-Bettmerhorn), Hohfluh (cable car from Riederalp), Moosfluh (cable car from Riederalp) and Eggishorn (cable car from Fiescheralp). TIP: Always worth to check the hours of cable cars as usually small villages in the mountains are not reachable by car.
