This road closes seasonally - dates and times below:
The eastern section of the Bow Valley Parkway is closed (approximately 17km from Trans Canada Highway to Johnston Canyon):
From March 1 to June 25 to all cars, bicycles, and foot traffic, overnight from 8 p.m. to 8 a.m. to give animals the space they need to thrive during spring.
From May 1 to June 25, 2025 & August 28 to October 2 , to all public vehicles from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. as part of the Bow Valley Parkway Cycling Experience pilot program.
Cyclists are not allowed to use this road from 8 p.m. to 8 a.m.
The western section of the parkway, between Johnston Canyon and Whitehorn Road, remains open to vehicles.
