There is only one spot on the Icefields parkway to fill fuel but it is very expensive compared to Lake Louise and Jasper. We'd recommend before getting on the parkway on either side.

Fuel up before and after driving the Icefields Parkway (Highway 93) between Lake Louise and Jasper. This scenic 232-kilometer (144-mile) highway runs through remote with extremely limited services along the way. In fact, there’s only one fuel stop at Saskatchewan River Crossing, and its fuel is often pricier than in either other towns. With no other stations for hours and no cell phone reception along most of the parkway, planning to top off at both ends (in either direction) is essential to avoid running low on gas. This tip is especially critical for early-morning or late-evening drives when that lone station may be closed and outside help is harder to find. By fueling up beforehand and afterward, you’ll be well-prepared and can enjoy this spectacular drive without fuel anxiety.
