If there are no other car rental companies available- look at a website called Turo. It's like an Airbnb for cars - we had a pleasant experience using it but be sure to scope out the host properly!

This can also be your first option for car rentals but a lot of credit cards don't consider it for insurance so you'll need to include insurance as well (we use AMEX and it doesn't count it - be sure to check with your credit card).
