Banff is beautiful year-round, but each season offers something different:
Summer (June–September): Warm weather, accessible lakes and trails, but peak crowds. Great for hiking and canoeing.
Fall (Mid-Sept to Early Oct): Stunning larch season, fewer but still lots of crowd, and crisp air—perfect for golden hikes.
Winter (Nov–March): A snowy wonderland with skiing, snowshoeing, and frozen waterfalls. The best time to catch the northern lights too! Not so crowded.
Spring (April–May): Shoulder season with fewer tourists, but some roads and trails may still be snow-covered or closed.
