The Plain of Six Glaciers in Lake Louise is a stunning and rewarding hike that starts along the Lake Louise shoreline. We highly recommend this hike as the views are what you've probably never seen before. It is 13.8km long (both ways) and is open in summer and winter. However, we don't recommend it as a winter hike as it is exposed to avalanches, so you need to be extremely well prepared if you decide to do it from November to June. We also recommend always carrying crampons or micro spikes while attempting this hike at any time of the year (just in case for summer).

The trail has amazing views at higher elevations of Mount Victoria, Victoria Glacier, and Mount Lefroy. It has benches along the way so it makes a great place to take a lunch break. There is also the Plain of Six glaciers Teahouse which has toilets, tea, and snacks for you. The teahouse is open during summer and early fall from 9am to 4pm. We recommend hitting up the teahouse on the way back so you can get to the viewpoint first and enjoy the views before bigger crowds roll in.

The trail is very exposed so be sure to get plenty of water, sunscreen, and sun protection. It can also get cold near the glaciers so be sure to also carry some layers.
