Scenic Lake drive with wildlife sightings

Message from Prerna & Nathan

The Lake Minnewanka Scenic Drive is a 24 km loop that offers stunning views and hidden gems. There are lake lookouts, remnants of an old mining town and a rocky causeway above Lake Minnewanka. Keep your eyes peeled for bighorn sheep and deer roaming the area, especially in the early or late hours when wildlife sightings are more common. Just be sure to plan your visit outside of peak times to avoid parking hassles!

This 14.5 km loop road takes approx 25 minutes without stops. Major viewpoints include Lake Minnewanka shoreline, Two Jack Lake, Cascade Ponds. THIS WAS OUR ALL TIME FAV SUNSET DRIVE! Two jack lake offers an amazing sunset!

The western section of the road is closed during the winter months (November 1 to May 1) to allow wildlife, like wolves and cougars, to move freely in the Norquay-Cascade area.
