If you’re looking for a short, rewarding hike that’s off the radar, Silverton Falls is a nice little trail just minutes from Castle Junction. While most of the crowd are at the nearby Johnston Canyon, Silverton offers a different option. It's great if you’re short on time but still want to squeeze in a waterfall adventure away from the crowds. We would only recommend this if you're driving on Bow Valley Parkway and have time.
The hike is a quick 1.8 km round trip which takes around 30mins with a bit of an uphill climb near the end, but it’s quiet easy and worth the effort. The trail winds through forest before opening up to a two-tiered waterfall. The viewpoint is quite small and there are no railings or major facilities here, so use caution near the edge. It’s especially lovely in spring or after rainfall when the water is flowing strong.
