Wapta Falls in Yoho National Park is a hidden gem worth exploring. This stunning waterfall is a short and easy 2.3 km trail through the forest taking about an hour. With minimal elevation gain and a total length of 5 km, it's a perfect hike for hikers of all abilities. The trail winds through lush forest before opening up to a wide gravel area with multiple viewing angles. In late spring and summer, the waterfall is at full force.

In winter, it becomes a surreal frozen cascade, and the trail is accessible with snowshoes or spikes. Winter access road closures add an extra 1.8 km each way, but this just makes the adventure more fun if wearing snowshoes or cross-country skis.

The trail gets crowded so we'd recommend doing this earlier or later in the day. It can also get quite muddy.
