Hoodoos Viewpoint often gets overlooked — but if you’re into unique landscapes and panoramic views, it’s worth a stop. It's located just a short drive or a scenic walk from downtown Banff. This viewpoint offers a front-row seat to the hoodoos, which are tall, thin spires of rock carved by centuries of wind and water. Mount Rundle and the Bow River Valley complete a beautiful backdrop.

The trail is called Hoodoos Trail, a 4.2 km hike, starting from Surprise Corner. (a small parking lot which fills up quickly). The viewpoint has benches, interpretive signs, and multiple platforms — and it's a great spot for photos, especially in the early morning or golden hour.

Elk are frequently spotted in this area. There are no major facilities at the viewpoint, but it’s a peaceful, low-key alternative to some of the busier attractions in town.
